One of the top songs of 1984 was Foreigner’s “I Want to Know What Love Is.” The chorus states, “In my life there’s been heartache and pain. I don’t know if I can face it again.” The lyrics then say that as much pain and heartache we have experienced, we still seek out love and relationships.

This week, I talked to Tim and here is his faith story:
Church and the presence of Christ played a small role in my life growing up. I only went to church occasionally with family. I knew so very little of religion and Christ that I was against it. I felt it didn’t play a true role in any real-life scenarios. I would roll my eyes when star athletes would first give thanks to God. I would stand outside the circle of my teammates prior to a baseball game while they kneeled together for prayer. In my mind, I was living life right, was nice to people, and a “good” person.

The church is not a building, the church is people. The “business” of the church is to invite, impact, reach out to, develop and send out people to make a positive difference in our local communities.
